Factory-supplied fittings, joint systems & assembly fittings

Assembly fittings

When installing district heating pipes, a distinction is made between classic insulation of the welded joint using our joint systems and the installation of fittings on site. Assembly fittings are always used when factory-made fittings are not possible. These can be, for example, subsequently manufactured route outlets or other fittings manufactured on site. They are also often used with flexible pipe systems due to the press fittings used.

Product information

Assembly fittings are made of non-cross-linked, and therefore weldable, polyethylene and can be used as assembly joints and subsequent fittings. They are all insulated with rigid polyurethane foam in the same way as the other system components. In general, assembly fittings are installed by certified ISOPLUS personnel. Some systems, such as those for flexible pipes, can also be installed by the installer due to their ease of handling.  Please note: assembly joints/assembly fittings do not comply with the requirements and guidelines of EN 253 and should therefore be avoided wherever possible for rigid pipe systems.

Key-features

  • Fittings especially for the subsequent insulation of rigid and flexible pipe systems
  • Weldable and shrinkable HDPE fittings
  • Factory-fitted for on-site requirements

Product Specifications

ISOPLUS installation bends are made of shrinkable PEHD according to the radius and diameter of the fitting and the insulation series of the pipe system.

Operating conditions: suitable for all pipe networks with increased operating conditions and soil conditions such as groundwater and pressing water.
Diameter: from Da 90 mm to Da 1200 mm
Delivery length: Dependent on dimensions, min. 450 mm per leg

If subsequent building connections must be made, installation branches can also be used in absolutely exceptional cases. This requires making a carrier pipe branch, e.g. by tapping. The PEHD branch is cut in the axial direction, folded over the carrier pipe and then welded using the PEHD extruder process. Installation branches with diameter ≥ 280 mm must be avoided. The scope of supply includes a special through-joint with outlet sockets.
The main transport line consists of a long shrinkable connection joint in which the outlet socket made of non-shrinkable PEHD casing pipe is welded-in in the factory. The shrinkable PEHD installation bend, reduced at one end, is mounted onto this socket. The diameter of the outlet socket and the installation bend depend on the tapping method used. To ensure the necessary insulation thickness is achieved, it may be necessary for the installation bend to be supplied with a diameter that is several sizes larger.
It is therefore absolutely necessary that, before tapping, ISOPLUS is notified of the following details by way of a true-to-scale drawing: tapping method or system, nominal diameter of through pipe and outlet, vertical centre-to-centre spacing or centre-to-centre distance between carrier through pipe and outlet, outlet type (different types of outlets possible on request), uninsulated or shell-free length of through-pipe (max. 400 mm) and outlet (max. 250 mm). Without these parameters, PEHD installation branches will not be delivered or made!

They include crimping sleeves, wire, spacers, mastic adhesive tape, welding plugs, venting plugs and shrink collars, which are needed for the connection technique and subsequent joint installation.

We offer you a selection of high-quality products for fast and secure installation and durable connection of your flexible pipe systems:

Fittings: these include all important joints and casing joints necessary for the installation and operation of PEX pipe systems.
Casing joint: these joints ensure reliable and tight connection between two lengths of pipe.
Connection coupling: available as press or clamp coupling, they ensure secure connection of pipes to different systems and equipment.
Reducer coupler: these couplings, which are also available as press or clamp variants, enable the transition between pipes with different diameters.
Connection angle 90°: this angle connector enables secure and precise connection of pipes at right-angles.
T-piece: available as press or clamp couplings, this connection element is used to split or merge pipelines.
Flexible joint: this flexible connection element enables simple connection of pipes, even in confined or difficult installation situations. Please contact your ISOPLUS sales contact directly to find out whether it is available in your country.
Y-shaped heat-shrinkable joint: a special Y-shaped connection coupler, which creates a tight connection by shrinking. Please contact your ISOPLUS sales contact directly to find out whether it is available in your country.
Sandwich bends and branches 90°: are high-quality fittings or insulation half-shells made of glass reinforced plastic (GRP). These components are intended for self-installation or installation by an installer. They can be insulated subsequently and thus off an optimum solution for the secure and durable connection of pipelines in bends and branches, even under difficult conditions.
