Factory-supplied fittings, joint systems & assembly fittings

Casing joints

Our joint systems fulfil a wide range of technical requirements. All PEHD connecting sleeves are used to create force-fit, airtight and watertight casing pipe connections (the electric welding joint is a substance-to-substance connection). Proper installation is carried out by trained specialists, who slide the joints onto the pipes before the welding work. The insulation and sealing of all joint types—except isocompact—are performed by certified and trained ISOPLUS factory-trained assembly personnel, who are certified according to FW603 (joint inspection) and DVS2212-4 (PE welding inspection). Our joint systems are certified in accordance with DIN EN 489-1.

Product information

We have developed the ISOPLUS joints to meet the challenges of installing components in a piping system.
We offer a variety of different joints that, depending on installation conditions and project requirements, are either heat-shrinkable or weldable.
Here you can find a list of all available joint systems and constructions along with their respective properties.

Key-features

  • Joint systems for every pipe connection
  • Cross-linked joints: isojoint X, isojoint III
  • Non cross-linked, PE-weldable joints
  • isocompact prefabricated half-shell
  • Suitable for all pipe networks with increased operating and soil conditions, such as ground water and pressing water.
  • Available as connection joints, long connection joints for some joint types, reducer joint, twin reducer joint or end casing
  • Spiro joints for special requirements for the installation of SPIRO folded spiral-seam outer casings, such as those used in the industrial sector

Product Specifications

The cross-linked, self-sealing isojoint X shrinkable joint is a system consisting of a one-piece PEHD pipe with heat-shrinkable properties and two PE welding plugs. After extrusion, the joint casing is cross-linked. The radiation cross-linking lends engineering plastics the mechanical, thermal and chemical qualities of high-performance plastics.
Stretched while warm during production, the joint is shrunk back to its original diameter using a soft gas flame during installation. This shape memory is also called the memory effect. Before the shrinking procedure, our specialists insert a hot-melt adhesive as a seal between the outer casing and the joint, so that the shrinking of the joint and the seal causes very high circular strength to set in, which is why additional sleeves are not necessary.
Before foaming, the cross-linked shrinkable joint is subjected to a leak test using air at 0.2 bar pressure and an appropriate indicator liquid. After foaming, the foam filling opening and the venting opening are sealed with polyethylene plugs.

We recommend the use of isojoint III as a cross-linked joint system up to a maximum of Da 630.
Operating conditions: suitable for all pipe networks with increased operating and soil conditions such as groundwater and pressing water. Tested to DIN EN 489-1
Available Diameters: from Do 90 mm up to maximum Do 560 mm
Delivered length: standard = 740 mm

The double-sealed joint system isojoint III is made up of a PE-X joint casing shrinkable along its whole length, a PE-X shrinking foil with mastic hot-melt adhesive as the first seal and a special, semicrystalline hot-melt adhesive as the second seal.
The basic material of the isojoint III is a molecularly cross-linked carrier material made from modified PEHD. In combination with the PUR pre-insulation of the joint cavity, the PE-X shrinking foil and an exceptionally peel and shear-resistant hot-melt adhesive, a high-quality, economical to install and permanently sealed joint system is created.
Drillholes and foam filling and venting holes are no longer required, as in the isojoint III joint system, the joint cavities are foamed by means of a foam shell before the joint is sealed with PUR foam. This enables non-destructive testing of the foam quality.

Operating conditions: suitable for all pipe networks with increased operating and soil conditions such as ground water and pressing water. Tested to DIN EN 489-1
Available as: Casing joint
Diameter: from Do 90 mm up to maximum Do 1200 mm
Delivered length: standard = 740 mm

The main feature of the isocompact joint is the use of prefabricated PUR half shells in conjunction with the isojoint III system components. With the exception of twin pipe systems, this is used by the pipe installer for independent post-insulation at the joints of isoplus pipes.
The isocompact joint consists of a two-piece PUR insulation shell, a shrinking foil coated with sealing compound, the corresponding quantity of sealing tape and a closed, fully cross-linked, nonweldable shrinkable joint. Cross-linked PE with heat-shrinking properties is used for the shrinking foil and shrinkable joint, which are both shrunk with a soft gas flame during installation.
After the first shrinking procedure, the sealing adhesive is inserted between the shrinking foil and joint so that the shrinking of the joint and the seal cause high circular strength to set in. The joint lengths are standardised.
The isocompact joint is not available as a reducer joint or as an end casing.

Operating conditions: suitable for all pipe networks with normal operating and soil conditions. Tested to DIN EN 489-1
Available as: joint casing
Diameter: from Do 65 mm up to maximum Do = 1000 mm
Delivered length: standard = 740 mm (long connection joint is not possible)

The non cross-linked, heat-shrinkable joint is a double-sealing system which consists of a one-piece PEHD casing joint with heat-shrinkable properties and two shrink joints for double sealing the casing joint at the overlap between the joint casing and the pipe casing. For sealing the foam holes two PE welding plugs are delivered.
Stretched while warm during production, the joint is shrunk back to its original diameter using a soft gas flame during installation (memory effect). Before the shrinking procedure, a sealing tape made of butyl rubber is inserted between the outer casing and the joint, with which an initial seal sets in during shrinking. The sleeve is then fitted and the entire system is subjected to a leak test using air before foaming. Only PE welding plugs are used to seal the foam holes..

Operating conditions: suitable for all pipe networks with increased operating and soil conditions such as groundwater and pressing water. Accepted according to DIN EN 489-1
Available as: Casing joint, long connection joint, reducer joint, twin reducer joint, end casing.
Diameter: from Do 65 mm up to maximum Do = 1200 mm
Delivered length: 700 mm - 1.500 mm

The patented electric welding sleeve without axial weld consists a closed, non cross-linked, PE weldable shrinkable joint, two loose copper heating conductors to be inserted directly before assembly and PE welding plugs. The delivery of separated heating conductor and joint ensures maximum cleanliness and ideal overcoming of dimensional tolerance and ovality at the ends of the outer casing.
By using a microprocessor controlled welding transformer the self-controlling electrical welding takes place fully automatically. Starting with the heating phase, the transformer determines the welding workflow while considering all basic conditions. Before foaming, the electric welding sleeve is subjected to a leak test using air at 0.2 bar pressure and an appropriate indicator liquid. The welding process data is digitally protocolled by the welding machine. After subsequent foaming, the foam filling opening and the venting opening are sealed with polyethylene plugs.

Operating conditions: suitable for all pipe networks with increased operating and soil conditions such as groundwater and pressing water, particularly within the so-called large pipe range. Accepted according to DIN EN 489-1:2019 in sand box sliding test with 100 cycles PE weld acceptance with tensile creep test to DVS Guideline 2207 - Part 5.
Available as: Joint casing, long connection joint, reducer joint, double reducer joint, end casing
Diameter: from Do ≥ 90 mm up to maximum Do = 1200 mm
Delivered length: standard = 700 mm - 1.500 mm

We supply the suitable accessories for all joints, from sleeves and sealing tapes to welding plugs, welding straps and much more. The available accessories can be found in the list in our download area.

Assembly shrink joints are made of a non-crosslinked, and therefore weldable, PEHD socket body and corresponding accessories and can be installed subsequently after the carrier pipe has been connected. This type of joint is a tested double-sealing system in accordance with EN 489 (D). Where possible, assembly joints/assembly fittings should only be used in unavoidable situations.
