Flexible pipe system
isoflex – Single pipe
The ISOPLUS pre-insulated isoflex pipe is a bonded pipe system that is perfectly suitable for branch pipes in district heating systems. It can also be operated at high temperatures and pressure and is equipped with our IPS-CU leak detection system.

Product information
isoflex pipes are part of a versatile system developed by us for various district heating and cooling applications.
They consist of a steel service pipe and a robust PE-LLD outer casing, which we produce with flexible polyurethane insulation to form a firm sandwich structure. isoflex pipes can be installed so quickly and easily because the flexible insulation and the PE-LLD outer casing provide maximum flexibility.
The delivery in lengths of up to 100 m makes it easier to install branch pipes and prevents unnecessary material waste. isoflex pipes are equipped with an aluminium diffusion barrier between the outer casing and polyurethane foam - which means less heat loss during the whole life of the system and lambda values of up to 0.021 W/m°C.
Key-features
- Short delivery times
- Delivery in coiled bundles up to 100 m single length
- no need for fixed point constructions for wall penetrations
- low pipe crest depth of cover and shallow laying enable narrow trenches
- minimum bending radii from 800 mm, therefore the most direct route can be taken to the building’s utility room
- highly reduced use of joint casings, practically no joint installation, immediate re-filling
- easier routing in built-up areas, faster total construction time, shorter traffic disruption
Product Specifications
The isoflex pipe consists of a longitudinally welded, cold-sized precision steel tube with particular dimensional accuracy and a smooth inner surface. Measures and weights acc. to EN 10220, material P195GH+N (normalised) No. 1.0348. Technical delivery conditions acc. to option 1 of EN 10305-3, with Inspection certificate (APZ) acc. to EN 10204-3.1.
Operating pressure max. 25 bar
isoflex pipes are insulated with rigid polyurethane foam (PUR) with a specially developed recipe. Continuously foamed around the service pipe in the production line, an exothermic chemical reaction produces a high-quality insulation material with excellent thermal conductivity, λ50 = 0.021 W/(m•K) with a very low density. ISOPLUS uses PUR foam that is 100 percent free from fluorochlorinated hydrocarbons (CFC). We only use a propellant gas from the pentane group as the propellant. This ensures enormous thermal insulation properties while at the same time achieving the lowest possible ODP and GWP values, ODP (ozone depletion potential) = 0, GWP (global warming potential) = < 0.001.
Continuous operating temperature max. 120 °C
Tried and tested Polyethylene Linear Low Density (PE-LLD) with a smooth surface is used for the isoflex outer casing. PE-LLD is a seamless, toughened, thermoplastic material with thermal conductivity λPE = 0.33 W/(m•K). In addition, PE-LLD It is highly resistant to weather effects and UV rays and practically all chemical compounds that occur in the ground. PE is therefore the only suitable material listed for direct underground laying in all national and international standards and guidelines. A aluminium film is integrated between the isoflex insulation and outer casing. This film acts as a barrier preventing the exchange of PUR cell gas, so that heat loss during the service life can be kept to a constantly low level. In general, we produce isoflex pipes without leak detection.
The steel pipe joint is made either by oxy-acetylene welding or by tungsten inert gas welding (TIG).
Can be delivered in Do = 20 mm up to Do = 28 mm
Delivery in coiled bundles up to 100 m single length
